Natural Cotton Woven Dress, 1939

This dress was made from material woven in the Textile Engineering Department at Texas Tech and was made into a dress by Delilah Manire in 1939. This simple natural cotton dress has “Texas Tech Red Raiders” woven in half-red & half-black letters forming a three and a half inch striped effect.  The dress is cut on the bias creating a diagonal design around the garment, with the neck cut in a plain V, and having lightly gathered short sleeves.
